Oscar!

Buried in the Netflix catalog next to knockoff crap like ChopKick Panda, is a gem that my young nephew discovered. As soon as he was told that his uncle "watched as many cartoons as he does" he dragged me to the living room and demanded to his mother that I be shown "the mooby wif de sirry liddard".

Oscar's Oasis is a love letter from some Vietnamese animation studio to Chuck Jones' Road Runner work. Oscar is a gecko who struggles to obtain basic needs--be it food, water, shade, or romance--and his various run-ins with a buzzard, a fox, a hyena, some alligators, and a dog that drives his owner's truck. The antics ensue in basic but beautiful 3D animation.
